# Projects

> Keep the chats, tasks, instructions and files of one goal together.

Use a project for one client, one case or one piece of recurring work. It keeps the chats, tasks and triggers together, with instructions and files that Temperate uses in all of them.

![A project with its goal, the field to start a chat, its chats and tasks of the last year by day, and its tabs](https://mintcdn.com/temperate/fiKOImnzsBaUE79z/images/project-work.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=fiKOImnzsBaUE79z\&q=85\&s=79bfa8d7f11b9de74bbecad7206186a7)

## Create a project

**1. Start**

In the sidebar, select the plus beside **Projects**, then **New project**.

**2. Name it**

Fill in **Name**, and choose who sees it: **Only you** or everyone in the space.

**3. Add a goal**

Optionally, write one line about what the project is for, such as "File each client's annual accounts before 1 July". Then select **Create project**.

## Work in a project

| Tab | What it's for |
| - | - |
| **Setup** | **Instructions** Temperate follows in each chat, and **Files** it can search. |
| **Tasks** | The project's work. A dot in the sidebar means something waits for you. |
| **Chats** | Your chats in the project. |
| **Triggers** | Your [triggers](https://docs.temperate.works/work/triggers.md) in the project. |

To start a chat, use the field on the project page, or pick the project under **Work in a project** in a new chat.

## Who sees a project

A project is either **Only you** or shared with the space. Temperate learns nothing from an **Only you** project. You can share it later, but a shared project stays shared. Only the person who created a project can rename, share or delete it.

## Delete a project

Open the menu at the top and select **Delete project**. Its instructions and files are deleted, and its chats stay.
