# Skills

> Write down once how your firm does a kind of work, and Temperate does it that way.

A skill describes how your firm does one kind of work: how you check a VAT return, welcome a new client, or write a letter. Temperate uses it when a task fits.

Open **Plugins** in the rail, then **Skills**.

## Add a skill

Select **Add** and choose **Create with chat**, **Create with editor**, or **Upload from your computer**. Then choose who gets it: **The organization** or **This space**. You need to manage that organization or space.

> Write the description with care: Temperate uses it to decide when a skill fits.

## Use a skill

Temperate uses a skill by itself when a question fits. To be sure, mention it with **@**. To test one, open it and select **Try in chat**.

## Change or remove

Open a skill to change its files. Use the switch on a row to turn it off, or open its menu and select **Delete**.
