# File types

> The file types Temperate reads.

These work in chats, projects and Knowledge. A file can be up to 50 MB.

| Text | txt, md, csv | |
| PDF | pdf | Scans up to 100 pages. |
| Word | docx, doc, odt | |
| PowerPoint | pptx, ppt | With speaker notes. |
| Excel | xlsx, xls, ods | xls and ods up to 2,000 rows. |
| Pictures | png, jpg, jpeg, webp, heic, heif | |
| Bank statements | sta, 940, mt940, swi, cod, coda, xml | MT940, CODA and camt.053. |
| E-invoices | xml | UBL invoices and credit notes. |
| Bookkeeping | xaf, xbrl | Audit files and XBRL filings. |
| Mail | eml, msg | With the attachments. |
| Folders | zip | Up to 50 files. |

## If a file can't be read

A file with a password or a very unclear scan shows **Could not be read**. Save it in another format, or make a sharper scan, and add it again.
