# Your first agent

> One question in your first chat, then your first agent does real work on your own notes.

After you verify your email address, Temperate opens a new chat in the space **General**, with the sidebar beside it. In that chat, Temperate sets up your first agent. You answer by tapping a choice or by typing.

**1. Pick your first agent**

Temperate asks: "Pick your first agent. It asks before it changes anything." Tap one of the agents, such as **Meeting notes to tasks**, or type in your own words what you want off your plate. Temperate picks the agent that fits your words, or the first one when none fits.

Temperate makes the agent for the space General, and you can change it later on its page. To skip this, tap **Look around first** or select **Skip**: the chat starts empty, as a new chat always does.

**2. Check the plan and give it your notes**

Temperate shows what the agent does, step by step. Select **Change the instructions** to change them first.

Paste your last meeting notes. Rough notes are fine. To see how it works first, select **Try it with an example**. Then press **Enter**.

**3. See the result**

The agent works in a chat of its own. For meeting notes, it makes a task for each action, with its date, and gives it to the person the notes name. It ends with a short summary of what it did and what you should check, such as a task that has no owner yet.

**4. Keep it**

When the agent is done, Temperate asks whether to keep it. Select **Yes** and the agent runs by itself every Monday at 09:00. Select **Not now** to set a time later on its page.

Then Temperate asks whether to invite a colleague. Select **Invite** to open the people of the space, or **Later**. After that, the chat goes on as any chat.

## An agent that needs a system

An agent such as **Invoices to chase** needs a system, here Moneybird. Temperate says what it reads there and that it asks you before it changes anything. Select **Connect** to open the page of that plugin and connect it. Select **Later** to keep the agent: it waits until the system is connected, and Temperate goes on with an agent that needs nothing.

## What a colleague sees

When you invite a colleague to the space, they find the agent you set up under **Agents** in the sidebar. Their new chat starts as any new chat does.

## Your trial

As long as your trial runs, the bottom of the sidebar shows how many days are left. Select it to open **Billing**. Only people who manage the organization see it. See [Billing](https://docs.temperate.works/admin/billing.md).
