# Add files to a chat

> Which files you can add to a question.

Select the plus in the field, then **Add photos and files**, or drag files onto the chat. You can add up to 10 files per message, each up to 50 MB.

## Scans and photos

Temperate reads a scan or photo of a document, up to 100 pages. A sharp photo, taken straight from above, works best.

## Viruses

Temperate checks each file for viruses first, which usually takes a few seconds. An unsafe file is refused and deleted, and you and your admins get an email. Profile photos, logos and backgrounds are not checked.

## Who sees your files

Files you add show in the panel at the right of the chat, under **Uploads**. Colleagues only see them if you share the chat.
